IOMG Technical Standard: Payments
All systems or technologies that require payment functionality will utilise the IOMG Common Service for Payments.
Making intelligent reuse of common services allows for consistency across the Isle of Man Government technology estate which in turn allows the following benefits to be realised:
- Providing a joined-up payment reconciliation services and platform
- Enable redundancy via persistence where systems or the reconciliation platform is unavailable
- Removed hard dependency on payment provider and a system
The Common Service for Payments uses message queuing technologies and protocols to facilitate asynchronous processing of payments and as such, subscribing systems must be able to consume said protocols either natively or through extension via application programming interfaces (APIs)
