IOMG Technical Standard: Network Device Backups
- Following installation of, and each change to, an item of Managed Equipment, the Contractor shall backup its software and hardware configuration.
- As a minimum Contractors must retain two separate backups for each item of Managed Equipment representing the latest and the previous configuration, to facilitate the resolution of faults, the timely recovery and rebuilding of replacement managed equipment and where required, the rollback of the configuration to a state prior to the latest change.
- Backups should be completed inline with current best practices including;
- Retained for auditing for minimum of 6 months
- Configuration change reporting
